Salceda to Santiago de Campostela
Today we will enter Santiago de Campostela. Today our Camino ends. More then a month, different landscapes, more than a thousand kilometers or almost two million small steps are behind us and all this will converge in the place where „the stars collide“. What began in that magic moment in the cathedral of Sevilla will now come to its destination. Vamos, at 5:30!
Andrej was ruined like never, but that morning he departed like a rocket and me and Taf were doing our best just not to lose him from sight. Taf’s little lamp went off pretty quicky so we provided her with a good one. Kilometers were passing by, below our feets like that moving floor on the airports. After sunrise we stopped for a snack: sandwich with ham, organic orange juice, coffee and Santiago cake for 8 Euros. We would stop just once more, for a quick Cola drink, for 1.50 Euros.
Magic eucaliptus and memories of Australia and „little Koalas“.
Just before the hill overlooking Santiago I… left my hat on the spot where I stoped to fix something on me. That hat, that was protecting me for more then a thousand of miles from sun, winds and rains. He must have found his way.
„Beliefs that incorporated Christianity into themselves rather than be cast aside. It is no stretch of the imagination to see the attraction that brought James the greater to these shores; the atmosphere is thick with faith and it is easy to believe here.“
